BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar Allegedly Attacked In West Bengal

Kolkata: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA was allegedly attacked in West Bengal as a bomb was hurled on his vehicle in Haringhata town of the Nadia district.

According to reports, the bomb exploded behind his car so no one got injured. However, his vehicle was damaged in the explosion.

"I was returning after watching 'The Kashmir Files'. A bomb was hurled at my car on my way back, we escaped it (bomb) narrowly. We pulled out the car a little far to see and police came after 10 min," ANI quoted BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar as saying.

In this regard, a complaint has been lodged in the police station. Notably, earlier BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar had alleged that the film The Kashmir Files is becoming a victim of politics in West Bengal and now he was attacked with a bomb.

The MP has alleged that TMC goons tried to kill him. He also said that he doesn't have central security, so during this time an attempt was made to kill him.

''Democracy is being murdered here. Article 356 (President's rule) should be imposed to control the current situation in the state...otherwise, it will not stop,'' he added.
